Positions Held
CISO: Arguably my favorite position in support of the organizations info, cyber, & technology security. CISO origins date back to 1994 with the appointment of Steve Katz @ Citicorp following cyber attacks from Russian hackers.
CIO: Deeply experienced based on my years as an IT & MSP provider supporting both internal and clients information systems. CIO origins data back to 1981 with the initial CIO roles in the US assigned to Al Zipf of Bank of America, and Max Hopper of Bank of America and American Airlines.
CTO: Primarily concerned with external or public facing technology on behalf of the organization often including development teams. CTO origins date back to the late 1980s with Aneesh Paul Chopra serving as the first Chief Technology Officer of the United States, appointed in 2009 by President Barack Obama.
CEO: Clearly the least technical position of my historical roles although I have enjoyed the vision and execution component. CEO origins… let’s loosely say it dates back to 1917 range aligned to the establishment of corporate business functions and roles.
Sales Leadership: Although this is often surprising to many, technology sales activities are a HUGE rush for me. Sales origins… beginning of time.

How far out do you book Keystones?
Due to the nature of keynotes, they can be booked based on availability, location, and content requirements. I spend a minimum of 10 hours on research related to the audience and/or community for all keynotes.
Based on your experience, do you ever speak on leadership?
Definitely and it’s one of my favorite topics. Most engagements come thru the technical side of a request but I spend copious amounts of time and energy related to the human and leadership aspect of every project engagement. Without the component, most “technical” projects fail.
Do you have defined formats for workshops and/or retreats?
While I have done countless events of this nature, I am most interested in understanding the audience to determine the desired objectives and outcomes. Format is designed to best fit the event manager requirements ultimately facilitating the most successful results.
How would you describe your event style to event planners?
Highly energetic, fun, enjoyable, engaging, and always full of actionable content. Typically these adjectives don’t often describe technology or cybersecurity related events. I am on a mission to change that with every engagement booked.
